Posh Indeed! SO pretty!
My large Beetle arrived yesterday, and I am so impressed by the overall look and the quality of the construction! The photos don't do justice to how large this bag is .. it is a very large handbag, almost like a small duffel bag. It can easily hold a spare change of clothes & shoes, along with your regular items (wallet, keys, cell phone, a book to read). I'm in nursing school so it is the perfect size to throw a spare pair of scrubs into as well as a schoolbook & notebook.
The bag smells .... like an inner tube. Which is pretty awesome, because who wants a bag to smell like dead cow skin (leather)? I certainly don't.
Overall ... this bag exceeded my expectations in every way. I will probably be buying the regular Beetle in the future, though, just for a smaller everyday bag.
Love this bag
I have owned the over-sized Beetle for just over two years and love it. I am 50-something years old and petite (61.5" tall, 105 lbs). I carry the Beetle to work and nearly everywhere else except "fancy" restaurants/events when a small clutch will suffice or outdoor/gym activities like rock climbing. I bought it because I wanted a large vegan bag that would stand up to my daily abuse (I am very hard on handbags and shoes - will wear out even expensive designer brands). When I travel, flight attendants ask me about the bag and I send them to this website. About once a month, I "polish" the exterior with Armor-All and the handbag looks like new. I also like the interior key fob - no more lost keys.
not a purse
This is a very nice item, well made and worth the money if you're looking for a LARGE bag.
I purchased this with an everyday purse in mind; this thing is heavy and huge - practically a duffle bag.
Love my bag
Love my new beetle bag! The look is so unique for starters. It holds everything you need for a day out, whether at work or otherwise. The zipper is so nice to use, it opens from either side which is very handy. I like a "backbone" to my handbag, if you can understand that. Who can beat the free shipping, to Canada as well. Excellent design! Thanks again!...
Best bag ever!
I purchased this bag 3 years ago and I have to say - it's held up remarkably! It can take a lot of abuse - and all you have to do is give it a little polish and it looks good as new. I get gobs of compliments on it. I love all the inner pockets/compartments. It goes with everything. I just LOVE IT!
It does get a little heavy when you fill it up, but it's one sturdy mother.
perfect bag except...
This is the perfect bag except........ It is a bit heavy. I look at it this way: It's beautiful with a funky edge; it's incredibly well made; and I carry it proudly because I have a clear vegan conscience!!!! I consider carrying it as bonus incidental exercise!!!!!!!!! I am using this bag daily with as light a load as possible inside. When I go to my office without files, I also have the extra room to have it double as my briefcase. However, this would not be the bag I would choose to use when doing a lot of summer sightseeing in a large city because the combo of being heavy and hot. I just love what this strong, fashionable, yet practical bag says about my personality! When retreads makes a size in-between the small and large beetle, I will be the first to buy a second bag!!!!!!!!!!
Fab Bag!
I like big-ish bags, I just wish it wasn't so heavy, That is the only drawback. Like another reviewer said, wish there was a size in between the large and the small, just because of the weight issue.

I found this brand after a long search for an attractive and durable alternative to leather. I bought mine secondhand, and it still looks brand new. I love that it fits pretty much everything I need during the work week, and it looks fantastic.
I love this bag.
I love love love this bag. But it can get weighty once I fill it. It's large enough to carry EVERYTHING. And so of course I put it in there. Probably a better match for someone who has a car and doesn't carry her life with her on foot.
Great carry on (for flying)
This bag is my favorite carry on. It holds everything I could need on a long flight, with those unexpected delays: sweater, snacks, at least two magazines, a trashy novel, my ipod and all my normal daily essentials. Plus, it is a very effective seatmate tool, the hip folks I sit next to always ask about it, and the more conservative types are a little intimidated. It works better than an obvious tattoo. The one drawback is that if I fill it, it gets heavy.
I like the keyrings
I do like the addition of the ring inside as I have two sets of keys that I was clipping to the outside rings. This way they are more secure inside and in the same place so I don't have to to hunting for them.
